Engineering On Tap

Join us for a series of short technical presentations from local colleagues in a relaxed environment. This time around we have two exciting presentations:

Designing an AI Camera for Agricultural Pest Detection –  Sidney Rubidge
Reducing chemical volumes applied to crops is one of the many efforts to make agriculture more sustainable. This presentation gives an overview of designing an AI-powered camera to detect pests and diseases so that only infected portions of the crop need to be sprayed.

What the Heck is Net-Zero? – Christina Varner
When discussing the energy transition from fossil fuels to renewables, the term “net-zero” gets thrown around a lot. This presentation will explain what net-zero means and why it is not so simple to achieve.
